A bit windy and fog today but that didn’t stop our 50th birthday party for Long from going for the big ones! We got our live bait then headed out to Jurassic Park for another lingcod fest and as soon as we dropped in we had a double lingcod hookup. The wind came up so we on;y got another 30 minutes of fishing in before we had to head for calmer water. Came home with lingcod, olive, blue, canary and red pacific snapper and a very happy Long.
August 31 MEGA-BITE
Flat water and another 70 degree air temp day for our local potluck trip. Caught snapper limits for all and a couple lingcod. Great holiday weather!
August 29 MEGA-BITE
Water was flat as a pancake again for our Jurassic Park trip. Got our live bait then headed for the lingcod. We nailed limits plus crew of lingcod then went for rockcod. The rockcod bite was slow. We did encounter a little issue with what to do with fish if someone wanted to give theirs to someone else on the boat. For lingcod anyway, you cannot have more than two lingcod in your daily possession so… if you already have two lings, you cannot accept lingcod from someone else. Weird law but nevertheless, it’s the law.
August 28 MEGA-BITE
Flat as a pancake water with 69 degree air temps made for a great local potluck fishing trip. Fish were a bit shy. Brought home 3/4 limits of nice blue, olive and red pacific snapper.

August 20 MEGA-BITE
Ran to one of our favorite inshore spots for rock fish in the morning. The fish were not particularly hungry but we persisted and finished one short of limits and threw back several small guys. We landed a soup fin shark, a lingcod, and two china cod. We saw whales feeding and a thresher shark swam close by the boat. The weather was great and a good time was had by all.

August 12 MEGA-BITE
What a difference a day makes. Salmon has been spotty so we opted for Jurassic Park instead. The winds were up when we got there and it was hard to get the fish to bite. We got some but not nearly enough that we usually get on these trips. Going to give it a rest for a day and hope the winds come down.
August 11 MEGA-BITE
Decided to skip salmon and went for Jurassic Park and sure glad we did. Epic day with limits of Lingcod with a couple going 18 pounds. Then went after the rockcod. Great day and about 140 pounds of fish.
August 10 MEGA-BITE

August 10 RAYBERT
We ran out to one of our favorite local potluck spots only to find the fish were uncooperative. After spending some time trying to wake up the potential fish tacos we ran to an outside spot where we were first entertained by whales then, finally, the bite was on. We finished with crew limits of nice reds, blues, yellow tail, and a seldom seen chili pepper.
August 9
Started out with a local potluck trip and after an hour of small fish we decided to upgrade to Jurassic Park. Good thing we did because it was game on with non-stop big fish coming up. Nice lingcod, canary, green spot, yellowtail and red pacific snapper. Great time, flat calm water and 72 degree air temp all day.
August 8
Great 70 degree weather today and flat calm seas for Papa and his three little grandsons on our local potluck trip. Kids got real busy with non-stop fishing. Caught 100 fish but only kept the best for limits plus crew limits.
August 7
Jurassic Park trip today and after catching our sand dabs for bait we started hooking up fish as soon as we dropped in our lines. Looked like another wild and productive day for MEGA-BITE. After boating a few lings things got quiet. Real quiet. We tried everything and everywhere we could to get the bite going again.
August 6
